That is an excellent suggestion! Unfortunately, I was
quite unable to find any wells at all in Saudi Arabia,
so I had to pack up my water and my food and all of my
gear and head out.

I do wish my snail would pick up the pace! Snails, as
you know, are very happy to take their time while
traveling, sniffing and nibbling at each flower they
pass, and if one is lucky one's snail will make it a
mile or two a day, at best. So I'm afraid that I was
able to travel no further away from Saudi Arabia than
Mexico.

Needless to say, we were both quite happy to see all
of the water in the bay! I have attached a photograph
of myself and my snail swimming through the water to
our next destination: Guadalajara. This picture was
taken by a friendly tourist shortly after we fell off
the raft.

My, it's been an exciting trip! I have encountered no
other gnomes on my travels, but there has certainly
been no shortage of friendly people! From Mad Habib
to El Senor Mas Loco Que Usted, we have met many who
have been willing to help out and give us a hand when
we need one. Today we went to a petting zoo and hand
fed a friendly chupacabra.

Finding an internet connection here has been most
difficult. Fortunately, I found another raft with a
complete hookup, and so I can write this message to
you.

Well, I must be off. Much to see and do before I
"speed" away! Ha ha! Keep the haggis warm for me and
save me a sunny spot on your lawn.

Your obedient and respectful servant,

Dandelion Snailrider

P. S. It occurs to me that perhaps my snail might be
more expeditious in my travels if he had a name. I am
unable to think of one, but perhaps you could suggest
one? -DS
